We are a group of space loving Auburnites who want to draw awareness to the legacy of Dr. Robert H. Goddard & Esther Goddard. We are planning to have celebrations on March 14th & 16th, 2026 in honor of the amazing work they did including the first liquid-fueled launch right here in Auburn, MA 100 years ago. The 214 patterns, documenting many of the challenges and successes in the field of rocketry. He proved that rocket thrust would work in space. This seems obvious to us now, but in his time people believed that without something like the atmosphere to push against, rockets would not be able to fly in space.
Esther Goddard was also instrumental in documenting, filming, and carrying on his legacy. More to come about the amazing work she did.
